Ahsan Khan and Asif Khan,
Investment Advisors

"For as long as I can remember, veteran businessmen and investors - I among them - have been warning about the dangers of irrational stock speculation and hammering away at the theme that stock certificates are deeds of ownership and not betting slips. The professional investor has no choice but to sit by quietly while the mob has its day, until the enthusiasm or panic of the speculators and non-professionals has been spent. He is not impatient, nor is he even in a very great hurry, for he is an investor, not a gambler or a speculator. There are no safeguards that can protect the emotional investor from himself." -- J. Paul Getty

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Who are our clients?

A. Our clients come from all walks of life. Our clients include individuals approaching or in retirement, business owners, and professionals. They are either busy at work or at play. They prefer to delegate the management of their financial affairs to a professional team that shares their objectives. Our clients are optimistic and their focus is on their family and their community.

Q. What is our investment philosophy?

A. We strongly believe that the best approach to investing is to employ the same approach as that used by large institutional investors such as pension funds, endowments, and foundations. We educate our clients about the method that a pension fund uses to manage their institutional accounts and offer that approach to our clients.

Q. Why deal with us?

A. Our comprehensive approach addresses issues that are important to our clients and their families—investment planning, retirement planning, estate planning. Our investment approach is responsive to the unique needs of our clients. We are conservative by nature and spend the necessary time with our clients to ensure they understand and are comfortable with our investment approach. We adhere to a rational and diversified investment methodology that enhances return and reduces risk.

Q. How would you describe your services?

A. We strive to make complex issues simple. We work with our clients to identify solutions to help them invest smarter, plan better and live more. We pride ourselves on the service experience we deliver to our clients. Our clients appreciate our amiable nature and the consistent communication and reviews that we offer.

Q. How do you stay current on the rapidly-changing financial world?

A. First and foremost, reading and attending courses and speeches related to our industry is something we enjoy. We spend several hours each week staying abreast of trends and issues that affect our clients personally and as Canadians. The sources of information come to us from both BMO Nesbitt Burns and third party media.

Q. How do we get paid for our services?

A. We are paid a fixed percentage of assets that our clients invest with us. There are no commissions to pay when you buy or sell. This approach is also known as a fee-based approach. You will never be asked to pay a commission based on transactions. This will eliminate any concerns about why an investment was sold or bought in your account.
