Personal History

Having grown up in a small town in Northern Ontario one of my goals was to live and work on Bay Street to study the mechanics of the equity markets from a first hand perspective. I entered the industry in 1999 and began my career as an equity trader for a large bank owned brokerage firm in Toronto. This role enabled me to gain valuable trading experience on the North American equity and options markets as well as the equity markets in Europe and Asia. As I entered into a management role in 2002, I was responsible for managing a team of 15 equity and options traders. It was at that time when I developed the training material for instructing new and experienced traders on how to properly set up and manage the process of trading on the foreign equity markets. I hold many industry courses including the Canadian Investment Manager designation (awarded in 2007) from the Canadian Securities Institute. I have lived in Georgetown since 2005 with my wife and young son as the appeal of a small town was re-discovered once I had a family.
