Steve Dembiske

"Navigating Markets for 25 years"

Biography/Profiles:

Steve F. Dembiske CFA, FCSI

• Born and educated in Canada, Steve graduated from the University of Victoria in British Columbia (B.A. with distinction) in 1972, and following a year of graduate studies, later co-founded three successful private businesses before selling his interests to pursue a career in the investment industry.

• Over the past 25 years, Steve has devoted his working career to the investment industry. He has held the Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) designation since 1985 and that of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) since 1991; he is a member in good standing of both professional organizations.

• His background as an Investment Advisor and as a Senior Strategist for an offshore global macro hedge fund, together with his investment industry consulting experience and extensive professional investment education attainments, has enabled Steve to bring additional disciplines to the areas of Asset Allocation, Portfolio Diversification, Security Selection, Risk Management and Profit Taking for the benefit of his clients.

• Knowing where many of the hazards are located in the investment waters of today - and more importantly how to navigate safely and conservatively through them – Steve believes his professional investment education plus his years of practical experience coupled with the support of BMO Nesbitt Burns’ first class analytical teams will provide the winning combination for each client’s investment wants and needs.

• Born in Prince George and raised in Victoria, B.C., Steve and Carol have been married for thirty years; they have resided on the North Shore of Vancouver since 1985. Their daughter, Chris, works in retail photography, and their son, Shane, in the hospitality industry. When not totally immersed in things financial, Steve and Carol like to head to warm destinations for brief periods to swim, snorkel, walk and learn first hand as much as they can about the local environments they’re visiting. A Canadian Coast Guard experienced individual, Steve also likes to get away to the B.C. coast for a short fishing trip once in a while, enjoying in particular the action of Northern Coho and larger Spring Salmon on light tackle in what he considers to be one of the most beautiful coastal settings in the world.
