Tom Dusmet is an Investment Advisor with BMO Nesbitt Burns, with an office in Sussex Centre, across from Square One Shopping Centre, in Mississauga.

Tom is part of an advisor team at BMO Nesbitt Burns, along with Brian Self, Nelia Taddeo and Greg Young, who work with Business Professionals, Near Retirees and Retirees to help them plan and manage all their financial affairs. His specialty is helping people identify their needs and dreams then establishing simple, low-risk plans that work for them.

Working together with people to identify what is important in their lives and then by developing simple, customized financial tools, is how Tom helps them achieve these goals, whether they might be funding the education of their children or grandchildren, planning for their own retirement, planning their estate needs or identifying and provisioning for a cherished philanthropic vision they might have.

Tom takes a consultative approach with clients – he invites them to bring their questions forward, which, in turn, invites questions from Tom: this way, we work together to identify all essential financial details, discuss issues and concepts, to develop strategies and solutions from.

Obviously, before Tom can make any recommendations or suggestions, he needs to learn what your visions and objectives are and what level of commitment you have to them, so he can help you achieve the financial component of your goals. Examples of the questions Tom might ask are:

1. What keeps you up at night?

2. What’s really important to you? (short and long term)

3. What resources do you have at your disposal?

4. What are your dreams - personally and financially?

5. What stands in the way of you realizing your dreams?

These questions help him develop a plan of action: Tom will develop short and long term strategies, to put you on track to achieving your goals and help you commit to those strategies which seem to best meet your needs.

Once a strategy is implemented, Tom will continue to regularly monitor and evaluate your progress with you to ensure that you are on target to meeting your goals.




In his spare time, Tom is very active in his local community, through the Rotary Club of Milton, the local Chamber of Commerce and other organizations. Through the Rotary Club, Tom has initiated such projects as the “Gift of Knowledge Scholarship,” the Milton Rotary TV Auction and a suite of new member tools called “All About Rotary.”
