Troubleshooting


I noticed an error in my account information, what should I do?
Ensure that you are looking at the right account and that the whole page is viewed by the use of the scroll bar. Please contact your Investment Advisor so he can resolve your concerns immediately if you still believe there is a discrepancy in one of your accounts.

I placed a trade yesterday, why do I not see it on the Transaction History screen?
You can view the status of any trade on the Order Status screen. If a trade got rejected or is still pending, it would not appear on the Transaction History screen. Please contact your Investment Advisor if the Order Status screen does not display any information.

Why are my transactions not displaying on the Transaction History screen?
The default date for the Transaction History screen is the current month. You may not have any transactions for the current month. Try changing the From/To dates, and click on the ‘Submit’ button.

Why can't I find a transaction that took place two months ago?
First, ensure that you are looking at the right account. You can expand the date range in your search by changing the From/To dates. Please contact your Investment advisor if you still cannot find the transaction you are looking for.

What does it mean when some of the securities on the Holdings and Portfolio Quotes screens display a zero or N/A quote?
There are a number of reasons why a security might not display a value. For one, trading on the security may have been halted or it may be a new issue where trading has not yet begun. To determine if there is a data problem within Gateway, use the ‘Symbol Search’ feature in the ‘Market Data’ function to find the symbol and the exchange. If a matching symbol is found and a quote is displayed through the Market Data screen, then there may be a data problem and further investigation is necessary. Please contact the Gateway Helpdesk at 1-877-873-7664 for assistance in English or 1-877-873-7665 for assistance in French if you require further information.

What should I do if the cash total displayed in the Holdings screen is different than my statement?
Statements are “As Of” the last day of the month. You account information in Gateway is “As Of” the previous business day’s close. Please contact your Investment Advisor if you require further assistance.

Why can’t I view a research report when I click on the title of a document?
You need to have Adobe Acrobat installed in your computer to view research reports from Gateway. Download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat.
